When people visit Hope House one of their most common questions is, "What happens to the boys after they turn 18?" While the Mexican Government makes no provision for them, our love and care for these boys does not end with their 18th birthday.
Math was a topic many of us didn’t like in elementary school. Words were warm, personal and familiar. On the other hand, numbers were cold and distant—used for some logic we didn’t quite understand yet.
Over the nine and a half years of its existence, Hope House has been home to more than 100 boys between the ages one and 18. Boys who experienced neglect, abuse or abandonment and who were longing for a place to call “home.”
If you have ever traveled to a country that doesn't speak English, you know how important it is to have a translator. It is nearly impossible to understand simple instructions, let alone complex concepts when they are being shared in a language you do not speak.
