Each boy at Hope House has a story. A story that has brought them to Hope House. Sometimes these stories include neglect or sadness, sometimes they include siblings; but the most wonderful part of the story is the reuniting with family!
Hope House is part of a system very similar to foster care in the United States. Because of this, each boy may at some point be reunited with their family. Parents or grandparents, aunts or uncles, each have to go through a process to confirm they are ready to care for the child again. The process can be lengthy and repetitive, and to be honest, not many family members do it; but we celebrate with them when families are finally together again.
This month four Hope House boys were reunited with their families. It was a bittersweet moment as they picked their bags and said goodbye to Hope House staff. It’s always hard to see kids leave an environment where they are safe, loved and succeeding in life, but we pray that continues as boys return to normal family life.
For boys Manuel, Aaron, David and Edwin; the joy of family was evident in their smiles. They grinned from ear to ear in excitement to be with family again! Join us as we pray for them to continue to grow and succeed in life! The Hope House won’t be the same without them, but we are excited for what the future holds for them!
